PHASE II

In Phase II of the project, the Authority and their consultants will prepare a constraints analysis of Region 1: Highway 198, which will include environmental and geotechnical analysis of the recommended area. The Authority staff will also begin the procurement of studies and information, which may be ultimately used in preparation of an Environmental Impact Report.

Constraints Analysis
On January 15, 2004, the Board of Directors adopted a resolution to conduct a constraints analysis on the Task Force Recommendations. Initial site visits were conducted April 5-13, 2005 and engineering, geologic, hydrogeologic, biological and cultural investigations were performed.

Phase I Preliminary Findings Report
Evaluated the land use, public health and infrastructure necessary to identify the environmental constraints associated with developing the sites in Region 1: Hwy 198. None of the factors considered in the report maintained fatal flaws for the development and operation of a landfill at any of the five sites under consideration
